Monday Musings; My Friend "Grace"

So it's been a long time since I've updated my blog.  Oh I could give so many excuses, and I will just bear with me.

The last ...what probably two months I have been sick.  Along with the sickness, my depression peaked worse than I have experienced in years.  Therefore blogging has not been my thing lately.

The other day I was reading in "True to the Faith" .   I just happened to read about Grace.  Yes that word that I seem to forget mostly all the time.  She's like this friend I never call, even though she's always like, "I'm here if you need me, just let me know and I will help".    And I'm like," I'm working here trying to labor all my days through the pain.  I'll take of care of my own healing.  My own salvation, thank you very much.   I'm strong enough, I have enough faith... blah blah blah."

Yes that's me refusing this great gift of grace that has been given so lovingly by my Savior.  It's his grace that is not only nice to have, it's essential.

Here's the definition from True to the Faith.  First it talks how we need Grace for our own salvation, but then it continues;

In addition to needing grace for your ultimate salvation, you need this enabling power every day of your life. As you draw near to your Heavenly Father in diligence, humility, and meekness, He will uplift and strengthen you through His grace Reliance upon His grace enables you to progress and grow in righteousness.   Jesus Himself “received not of the fulness at first, but continued from grace to grace, until he received a fulness” Grace enables you to help build God’s kingdom, a service you cannot give through your strength or means alone.

I thought that was pretty comforting, and then it goes on to say;

If you ever become discouraged or feel too weak to continue living the gospel, remember the strength you can receive through the enabling power of grace. You can find comfort and assurance in these words of the Lord: “My grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them

Wow the strength you can recieve through the enabling power of grace.  I will make Grace my friend

I'm still working through some depression, but I feel the Savior's love and healing power in my life and know that He who has bore all things will be there if I just let Him.

So you know I can't usually "Muse  on Mondays" without a song.   A Song I've been playing in my head lately is The Lord is my Light', particularly the 3rd verse:

The Lord is my light; the Lord is my strength.
I know in his might I'll conquer at length.
My weakness in mercy he covers with pow'r,
And, walking by faith, I am blest ev'ry hour
Couldn't find The Lord is My Light on youtube, so I'll reshare one of my favorites by Kenneth Cope:
