5 Day walk to Bethlehem

I'm reposting this because it's a tradition now in the Minor home.  And it will be our lesson for FHE tonight. 

 

To me it's about helping bring the miracle of Christmas into our lives and our heart.

 

5 Day Walk to Bethlehem

Do an activity a day until Christmas Day

Then take the 1^st letters of each GREEN word to spell what we do when we arrive in Bethlehem

Ask

Pray for guidance for a specific challenge, or to increase your faith and testimony. Remember to do your part.

Draw ^bnear unto me and I will draw near unto you; ^cseek me diligently and ye shall ^dfind me; ask, and ye shall receive; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

But, behold, I say unto you, that you must ^astudy it out in your ^bmind; then you must ^cask me if it be right, and if it is right I will cause that your ^dbosom shall ^eburn within you; therefore, you shall ^ffeel that it is right. ( Doctrine and Covenants 9:8)

Deed

Do an act of service without telling anyone

My little children, let us not love in word, ^aneither in tongue; but in ^bdeed and in truth. (1 John 3:18)

Open

Open your eyes to see the “goodness and glory of God” Write in your journal what God has done for you. Watch on the Church video from President Henry B. Eyring “O Remember, Remember”

And he caused that the priests should assemble themselves together; and they began to fast, and to pray to the Lord their God that he would open the mouth of Alma, that he might speak, and also that his limbs might receive their strength—that the eyes of the people might be opened to see and know of the goodness and glory of God. (Mosiah 27:22)

Remember

Remember the Atoning Sacrifice of the Savior, Listen carefully and ponder the Sacrament Prayers

O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and ^asanctify this ^bbread to the souls of all those who partake of it; that they may eat in ^cremembrance of the body of thy Son, and witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they are willing to take upon them the ^dname of thy Son, and always remember him, and keep his commandments which he hath given them, that they may always have his ^eSpirit to be with them. Amen. (Moroni 4:3)

O God, the Eternal Father, we ask thee, in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, to bless and sanctify this ^awine to the souls of all those who drink of it, that they may do it in ^bremembrance of the ^cblood of thy Son, which was shed for them; that they may witness unto thee, O God, the Eternal Father, that they do always remember him, that they may have his ^dSpirit to be with them. Example

Think of His example and choose a gift that you will give to Him to become more like Him. Write or color your gift to the Savior this year

Born in a stable, cradled in a manger, He came forth from heaven to live on earth as a mortal man and to establish the kingdom of God. During His earthly ministry, He taught men the higher law. His glorious gospel reshaped the thinking of the world. He blessed the sick; He caused the lame to walk, the blind to see, the deaf to hear. He even raised the dead to life.

What was the reaction to His message of mercy, His words of wisdom, His lessons of life? There were a precious few who appreciated Him. They bathed His feet. They learned His word. They followed His example (President Thomas S. Monson)
